Bernie Sanders Can’t Catch a Break

This would be funny if it weren’t so sad: Bernie Sanders being run off the platform at one of his own rallies for his presidential run by the #BlackLivesMatter lunatics. They seem to show up a democratic events. Well, some of them anyway.

I think, if I’m not mistaken, this is the second time recently this has occurred at an event where he has spoken.

Now, as a conservative, I actually like Bernie Sanders. No, I wouldn’t vote for him in the presidential election but I respect him in that he doesn’t appear to obfuscate an tells people exactly where he believes the direction of the country should be heading. He’s an avowed socialist and except for his stand on the second amendment, stands in well with the progressive left.

As far as I know, this has never happened at a Hillary event, but then, Hillary has a ton of security and minders that won’t allow just anyone in at one of her events. Yeah, that really makes me want to vote for her.

Of course, Bernie doesn’t have the cash that other candidates in this race have as there are no SuperPACs behind him (yet) pouring money into ads. But then, he’s raised as respectable $15.2 million from individuals. That’s actually not bad and if he continues to gain momentum against Hillary, that number will likely rise considerably.

It’s too bad that every candidate in the upcoming election isn’t as transparent as Sanders appears to be. It’s refreshing and something I don’t think any of us have seen in our lifetimes. The only other candidate I can think of that seems to be nearly as unambiguous as Sanders is on the GOP side: Rand Paul, but he has a few problems with defining some areas and also has flip-flopped a bit on some issues.

I hope this ridiculousness will will stop at Sanders’ events. I believe everyone should be able to state their case for office without being harassed by a group of absurd attention seekers.

  1. The only positive thing about these ridiculous protests (I consider them ridiculous mostly because of the chosen target) is that they might lead our news media to pay a little attention to Sanders. They seem determined to ignore him, dooming his candidacy and making it far more likely that Hillary will fulfill their prophecies.

I do have one sad observation about the #BlackLivesMatter thing. The other day, I was on Facebook for some sado-masochistic reason. I came across some Native American activists presenting statistics about how Native Americans are disproportionately more likely to be killed by police as compared with their numbers in the population. But of course, they can’t suggest that Native American lives matter without being called racist. For many (though certainly not all), #BlackLivesMatter seems to mean that only Black lives matter.
