July 2016: Salon Accuses DNC of “Red Baiting”

I can’t stand it. I just have to write about an arti

cle I just found from last summer concerning the DNC email leak, aka, the “hack”. I’ve never seen this one but then I don’t regularly read far left media. Maybe I should start.

The article believe it or not is from Salon and accuses the DNC of blaming Russian “hackers” for the problem when, looking at the emails themselves, the blame belongs to the DNC. Note that this article was published at the end of last July.

What’s really interesting the the subtitle in the article:

Leaked revelations of the DNC’s latest misconduct bear a disturbing resemblance to Cold War red-baiting

Just wow. Sounds a bit familiar since the end of the election, doesn’t it?

This revelation brings me to something I was going to write about a couple of days ago. When this data breach occurred last summer, a few colleagues and I (we’re all IT professionals) were sitting around one evening discussing it. It didn’t take us long, in fact just minutes, to come to a single conclusion: inside job.

Why would we come to that conclusion? Mostly because of this article, among many others that have come out over the years. It just seemed strange to us that the emails we all saw highlighted in the news were the ones that were specifically related to the DNC attempt to rig the primaries for Clinton.

Think about it. Some disgruntled DNC staffer – a Sanders supporter – discovers the DNC is actually attempting to fix the nomination for Clinton. Not too far out there for any one to believe. I’m not saying it wasn’t Russians, what’s disturbing to me is that I’ve never seen the media investigate the possibility that it may have been an insider that gave the emails to Wikileaks.

Julian Assange himself says that the data did not come from the Russian government. Other unconfirmed “sources” say it was actually an inside job.

Is it possible? I believe we all need to take a step back. There’s too much media coverage and of course the democrats as well as the white house would love to blame the Russians. Let’s be skeptical for once.
